The mission, environment, primary aim of our ministry is love. John 13:35 (AMP) says, "By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.” Love is therefore the foundation of our lifestyle. In everything that we do, we aim to express our love for God, God's love for every person and our commitment to showing this love to one another and the world. Given the way of the world around us, it's not always easy to stay on track with showing love and building an environment that maintains this focus. We recognized the need for an outline to help us remain diligent in our efforts so we adopted a membership covenant that outlines our practices that will help us achieve our goal.
According to Webster's 1828 dictionary, a covenant is defined as such: "In church affairs, a solemn agreement between the members of a church, that they will walk together according to the precepts [principles] of the gospel, in brotherly affection."
There are three main practices outlined by our membership covenant:
Spiritual Maturity: practicing disciplines outlined in scripture to promote individual growth in spiritual matters.
Spiritual Unity: engaging in practices that promote community within the ministry, understanding that a house divided cannot stand (Matthew 12:25) and there is power and unlimited capability in unity (Genesis 11:6).
Spiritual Impact: serving our community (both locally and internationally) using the authority given to us by Christ Jesus to destroy the effects of the curse in the earth and in the lives of people everywhere.
